Handicraft classes were run on ad hoc basis from 1993 with trainees who were physically disabled. Eden Handicap’s disabled staff conducted these trainings and had also taught at companies, factories and social welfare departments.

During my short volunteering stint at Eden Handicap in June, I had the opportunity to visit the Handicraft Unit and to meet Emily (the one on the right in the picture above). And Emily kindly showed me how she made those pretty decorative flowers from leftover breadcrumbs, and I had even blogged about it at on personal blog.

The Handicraft Unit, also known as Art & Craft Sheltered Workshop regularly undertakes sales projects at food and fun fairs and exhibitions and the products form a source of income for the workshop. The fact that the products can be sold to generate income for the sheltered workshop is in itself a motivation to the disabled staff and trainees.

They’re pretty, aren’t they? :)
They are very cute. The last photo is a fish, isn’t it?
