How can you help Eden Handicap Service Centre?

Posted on Jul 29, 2007 and filed under Blogathon 2007, Charity

There are a couple of ways in which you could help Eden Handicap Service Centre, depending on whether you’d like to help in terms of cash, kinds or services:

(1) CASH

Sponsor me!You may pledge to donate to Eden Handicap by sponsoring me. Signing up for an account and pledging to donate will not take more than 5 minutes of your time. And by pledging to donate during the Blogathon, we will have a record on how well we have done, and whether it is worth the effort to continue doing it in the coming years.

But if you’d like to donate to Eden Handicap directly, you may do so by transfering/wiring your contribution to Eden Handicap’s CIMB bank account. For foreign donors, the SWIFT code is also available on Eden Handicap’s Donation Page.

Please send as email to Madelene Tye after you have sent your donations. She will need the information for accountability reasons, and she would also like to personally thank you, as well as to issue you an official receipt.

(2) KINDS

Among the things that are on Eden Handicap’s wishlist are the following items:

  • Contribution to handivan (see image below)
  • 1 unit of LCD projector
  • 5 units of trolley for the recycling program
  • DVD player
  • Thermo pot
  • Laminating machine
  • Brooms
  • Floor mops

If you are able or would like to donate any of the items listed above, please email Madelene Tye for more information.

(3) SERVICES

Make a differenceIf you’d like to volunteer your time and services to assist people with disabilities under the care of Eden Handicap, please call Mr. Lee Sin Kok for arrangements. Mr. Lee may be contacted at +604 228 2758 or +6012 452 7240.

You do not need to have any special skills to become a volunteer, you just need to be willing to get involved. And, be reliable - other people are depending on your assistance.

And you have a range of volunteer opportunities to choose from:

  • Supporting people with physical or intellectual disabilities
  • Driving
  • Organizing and running charity sales
  • Tutoring the disabled children
  • Administration (office work)
  • Organizing fund-raising activities
  • Gardening
  • Teaching disabled children in computing
  • Organizing sports such badminton, swimming, outings with children with disabilities
