Thank you, Pelf for allowing me to participate in Blogathon. I am 5xmom.
I wanted to join Pelf in this blogathon, writing for Eden Handicap Centre because I have seen the efforts done by Eden. Being a Penangite, I often see the happy faces from Eden around shopping malls. When I say happy faces, I mean really cheerful people. You can feel the joy of these special people.
Eden has enabled them to be part of the society. Some of them are in wheelchairs and some who are able to walk helped those in the wheelchairs. Sometimes, they will be selling trinkets and souvenirs or selling lotteries. You have to see for yourselves to believe that they are being very well cared for and you can feel the love that Eden has showered on them.
During Christmas, I look forward to catch them around the shopping malls, carolling. I am in my church choir but the melodies and Christmas carols from these special folks somehow have something that we regular folks don’t have. Their voices may not be the best but when you see them putting their efforts together, despite of their handicaps, you know they are doing it with all their hearts.
So, the next time you meet one of these happy people from Eden at the mall, please do not shower them with only your money. Give them a genuine smile. Give them a pat on the back or if you can, give them a hug. They need our money but most of all, they need us to treat them as one of us.
Smile!

Hi Lilian !
May I do some corrections. We do not send disabled to especially sell loteries. These disabled are from some other centres.

Madelene - Thanks for pointing out. I saw some at Midland One Stops and thought they are from Eden too. Sorry about that.
