Christmas season is the time of the year when people are usually in a special mood. This is time when we forget all bad things about the passing year, share all the good things with our closest ones and embrace ourselves for the New year to come.
This is also an excellent time to make your first donation if you haven’t done so already. People are usually very skeptic about making donations, specially online as there is always some kind of fear involved that your money will not see the proper hands.
But those days are mostly over, and if you are aiming for a serious organization with long reputation and credibility you are certain that money you give is going to the right hands.
Why donate?
Many of you have donated before but also many didn’t. And making the first donation is always the hardest. But remember how many times you found yourself frustrated because of destruction of our planet, our oceans and animal world and thought there is nothing you can do? Well you can!
Most organizations will accept any kind of donation even $10 or $15. With the advancement of technology you can do it online in less then 5 minutes. Most of the organizations will thank you for your donation and offer to send various printed material about their activities, invitation to the seminars and much more. When you think of it it is almost shameful to donate just $15, when the material they send certainly costs more.
Having donated you will feel a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction for doing the right thing. And this feeling lasts. Also do not forget that all money you donate is tax-deductible at the end of the year so in a way you will have a return and you will help a noble cause.

How do I donate?
There are many ocean-related charity organizations, and best way to search for them is CharityNavigator. You can browse by category or activities and find the organization you like. You can almost always make payment by credit card or Paypal.
I have chosen Alaska Marine Conversation Council because I like what they do and I am quite fond of Alaska.
Do not wait, make your donation today and help save our oceans.
