It’s September 15th today, and it marks the start of the month-long blogging campaign on issues relating to the environment that I am hosting here on Giving Hands, and which will conclude on October 15th in conjunction with Blog Action Day.
Apart from writing about some practical tips on preserving the environment, I have also invited some of my blog buddies to guest-blog here throughout the month. I have no idea what they’re going to blog about because I have given them the freedom to write about practically anything between the sky and sea (bottom).
So do drop by for a month of environment-related posts and hopefully we’ll all learn something along the way. For all we know, Mother Nature isn’t going to last very long the way we’re treating her!

Cool! I’m hoping to see some posts about the northwest passage thing I’ve seen on the news recently, but I’m sure whatever people post it will be interesting. :)
Alan: What about “northwest passage”? But I’ve got some other articles lined up, mostly for us to share our experiences on greening the environment :)
Apparently the ice cap has melted enough to make the fabled northwest passage actually passable.
Warming ‘opens Northwest Passage’
Alan: WOW. I didn’t know about it, thanks for the link! And says WHO global warming isn’t real?!
Great Blog, Pelf! Thanks for the invite to come and see. I have browsed around a bit and have seen lots of stuff I really like. I would love to use some of the information that I have seen here on my own blogs.. There’s many posts here that are excellent in creating a higher awareness. I like the pieces on ‘not to drink bottled water’ very much and I will use them as a reference in the piece in Dutch language that I will be doing on Blog Action Day on one of my other blogs.
Good Job!
Hi Jos, thank you very much for the kind words :) You may use whatever material you find here on your blog. It’s all for spreading awareness, right?
The more aware people are of their environment, the more they are obliges to do their part in making Mother Nature healthier :)
Hi Pelf, thanks in total agreement with what you are saying.. :)
re: Blog Action Day
One of the nice ‘rules’ with Blog Action Day, is their suggestion that there should be a ‘relation’ in the BlogActionDay post of participating blogs between the blog’s overall ’subject’ and the environment. (they gave an example that a blog about money might do a blog post about the financial consequences of environmental actions, for example, etc.)
As I mentioned in my above comment, I will do a B.A.D. post about the marketing of bottled water on my Dutch language marketing blog Marketing•Review.
On my English language blog “NoDirectOn (not: NoDirection)”, there is a category called BlogLOve, and I am thinking to do a Blog Action Day episode of that series about TheGivingHands.org.
Maybe you can point me to some features on this blog that I should not miss to write about?
-Kindest regards, -Jos:)
